Microsoft launches Windows Live Messenger iPhone app
Microsoft has released a free Windows Live Messenger app for the iPhone that lets you communicate with friends and access your Hotmail Inbox on the move.
If you have the app installed you will receive 'push' notifications when contacts begin new conversations with you, even if you don't have the app open.
However, the Windows Live Messenger app doesn't take advantage of the multitasking features available in the new iOS4 operating system for the iPhone, which is due to launch on Monday.
Microsoft recently unveiled the new-look Windows Live Messenger which includes features such as better integration with social networks, something that is also present in the iPhone app.
The app also gives you the ability to upload photos directly from your iPhone.
The Windows Live Messenger app is now available for download from the App Store.
Microsoft has also said that it will launch a separate Hotmail app for the iPhone.
